This is an image I've been wanting to draw for a long time, but it never comes out right. This certainly isn't what I imagined when I started, but I like it for what it is. I wanted something more refined, but I ended up with something a little more abstract and emotional.
Well, it's an emotional scene: Heimdall preparing to blow the Gjallarhorn, bringing in an age of destruction and recreation. Imagine if you had to shoulder that responsibility? I wanted him to look weathered, gentle, hesitant, but also resigned to his duty.
He does look like that. All the stars are covered and He looks old, poor Elder God. That's a lot of responsibility hanging on His shoulders and I highly doubt He ever wanted to blow the darned thing; but there was always the Hope in the Next World for him to look for. If He could see all the places in the Universes He could see Time, Bless Him.
Very well done. It is interesting how you had to work this one out many times before finding the version that feels the best. I appreciate you sharing that.
